PITTSBURGH (June 5, 2024) – Triangle Tech, an award-winning industry-focused technical school with six locations throughout Pennsylvania, has announced its decision to close after 80 years of teaching ƹƵ and assisting them with job placement and career development.

The school has committed to delivering high quality education, student services and fulfilling its obligation to all current ƹƵ meaning that all remaining ƹƵ will graduate with Associate in Specialized Technology degrees in their chosen fields

“For eight decades, a Triangle Tech diploma has been a source of pride and a pathway to good jobs for our ƹƵ,” said Timothy McMahon, president emeritus. “Unfortunately, the Covid pandemic, changes in the industry landscape and strenuous
government regulations have changed the economies of many post-secondary schools. As a result of these factors, as well as declining enrollments, we have made the very difficult, but necessary, decision to close.”

Employees and ƹƵ were informed of the school’s decision June 5. About 20 positions of the school’s remaining 110 staff members will be immediately impacted, and Triangle Tech is working to support those affected by the changes.

“We are in communication with our stakeholders, including the accrediting commission and the relevant federal and state authorities, with whom we are sharing our plans for a smooth and successful closeout with our goal to see that all ƹƵ complete their
education. We remain optimistic that we can successfully deliver for our current ƹƵ,” McMahon concluded.
